Alan Shearer blows hot, thinks Man Utd should let go of Anthony Martial after West Ham defeat, saying "he's not good enough."

Former Newcastle United footballer, Alan Shearer, has expressed his opinion on Anthony Martial's performance for Manchester United. Shearer believes that Martial is not good enough to play for the team. This came after Manchester United lost 1-0 to West Ham on Sunday, following a loss to Brighton three days earlier. Martial played in both games but was unable to make a significant impact.

Fans and pundits have been criticizing the French striker in recent weeks for his poor form. Shearer, who is the Premier League's all-time top goalscorer, also criticized Martial in his analysis of the game on Premier League Productions. He stated that Martial has had enough time at Manchester United and should move on.

"You don’t need to make any big decision on him because I think the decision has already been made or it should already have been made.

"He’s been there long enough, he’s had enough chances. He’s not good enough to take Man United to where they want to be.

"If he was good enough he would be starting on a regular basis and he would be scoring goals.

"He’s had his time and it hasn’t worked for him, that’s my opinion."

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright shared a similar view.

He added: "With all due respect to Martial, if you’ve got Wout Weghorst starting in front of you, you’ve got a problem."

Anthony Martial is expected to leave the club this summer as the team's manager, Erik ten Hag, aims to rebuild the squad. The United boss has made it a priority to sign a new striker during the summer transfer window, and Tottenham's Harry Kane is a top target.

Kane is unlikely to sign a new contract with his current team, Tottenham, and Manchester United is said to be interested in offering him a large sum of money to join the club. This move is expected to be a significant part of the team's efforts to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
